Highfield Level 3 Award Highfield Approved Centre

First Aid at Work

Full 3-day course · From £225 per person · Groups from £200/person · HSE-recognised

The comprehensive first aid qualification for higher-risk workplaces.

The First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification is the full, comprehensive first aid certification required by higher-risk workplaces and organisations with larger workforces. Where EFAW covers the essentials, FAW goes significantly further equipping your designated first aiders with the skills to handle a much broader range of medical emergencies.

FAW is delivered over three full days of expert, hands-on instruction by Danny Thomas. Every candidate is assessed by observation throughout the course, with no written exam. The qualification is awarded by Highfield Qualifications, regulated by Ofqual and fully recognised by the Health and Safety Executive under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Not sure whether your business needs FAW or EFAW? Get in touch we'll give you an honest answer based on your workforce size and risk environment, not the more expensive option.

Who needs First Aid at Work?

The Health and Safety Executive recommends FAW for workplaces that are higher-risk, have larger workforces, or where the nature of the work means a more comprehensive response capability is appropriate. This typically includes manufacturing, construction, engineering, healthcare, warehousing, and any environment where EFAW alone may not provide sufficient cover.

If you're unsure whether your business requires FAW or EFAW, the HSE provides a risk assessment tool or simply ask us. We'll give you a straight answer.
